Hempel’s Cultural Foundation and Hempel Glass Museum
Hempel’s Cultural Foundation was established by Hempel founder J.C. Hempel in 1964.
The activities of Hempel’s Cultural Foundation consist mainly of the ownership and operation of the Hempel Glass Museum and awarding the Hempel Glass Prize.
J.C. Hempel was an avid antique glass collector, and over the years built up one of Europe's finest glass collections, which is now on display at the Hempel Glass Museum in Nykøbing Sjælland.
Every summer, when the museum opens a new exhibition is displayed by both glass artists, visual artists and designers.
Every year since 1988 Hempel’s Cultural Foundation has awarded the Hempel Glass Prize to a young promising glass artist, who in connection to that are invited to display a selection of their works in the museum.
Hempel’s Employee Foundations
Hempel’s Employee Foundations grant financial support to current and retired employees of the Hempel Group and their immediate family (spouse/partner and children) in the event of unfortunate situations. Support is also granted for funding of higher education to the children of Hempel employees.
